Is your dog appropriate for Pet Therapy?

Connecting animals and people is what Pet Connections is all about! Pet Connections, a division of Ontario ARC, combines the healing power of pets with socialization to provide a unique experience for each person.

Pet Connections offers Animal Assisted Intervention volunteer certification and membership. Similar to national organizations, Pet Connections will offer certified volunteers with access to individualized volunteer opportunities, unique training and workshops as well as the same liability insurance coverage.

Different pet therapy environments require different expectations for handling your dog. For example, the necessary temperament for Occupational Therapy sessions will be much different from the perfect disposition for after school reading programs. These classifications can be modified during the course of volunteerism and owners are welcome to work with our evaluation staff to seek new opportunities throughout your time with Pet Connections.

We offer training and workshops for people interested in working with their dog to become Pet Connections Volunteers.
